It’s okay to bleed

Menstruation is a process in women body of discharging blood from the uterus at interval of about one month. Menstruation is also called as period. It generally starts at the age of 15. Menstruation cycles often bring about a variety of uncomfortable symptoms leading up to period. The most common issues are cramping and fatigue but in some cases serious problems are also noticed like heavy bleeding and irregular bleeding.

However, it has always been surrounded by taboos and myths that exclude women from many aspects of socio-cultural life. Such concept about menstruation present in many societies impact on women emotional state, mentality and health. Some rules which are followed by women from many years are really brutal and against their health.

Menstruation is just a period but in our society people believes it as sin. The some harsh rules should followed by girls during their periods;- Like, they are not allowed to pray, they are not allowed to visit temple, they are not allowed to cook and like this only they are restricted to other stuffs. The phase where they need all emotional support, love and care they are neglected like as a criminal.

There are many reasons behind such concept. People still don’t have proper knowledge about menstruation, they think during the period girls are impure so that they are not allowed to do any work, people feel shy to talk about the menstruation, in most of the school teachers skip this topic. Why such mentalities still exist in our society where people are educated and know about it well.

Firstly, there is nothing like girls are impure during their periods; they are as pure as others. When they don’t bleed then it will be the matter of issues because if they don’t bleed then the world doesn’t exist. It’s just a normal body process in women body. It’s natural and no one can deny this fact. It’s a period where a girl need more love and care and positive environment but in our society they have to face a lot of problems. People make fun if they saw a red patch on their dress. Still women can’t talk about it freely. Still some girls use clothes rather than sanitary pads which are unhygienic and due to regular use of those clothes they might suffer from different diseases.

Treating women as they did some crime during their periods is worse. The women are naturally born with this thing called period and it’s not sin. So, treat them as they are one of us. The teacher in school should focus on this topic and not only girl but boys should also know about this term. Make them know about the uses of sanitary pads. Government should make sanitary pads free rather than condoms because sex is choice where periods are natural .So let them do all what they need to do as per their comfort. It’s not written anywhere that a girl can’t go to temple and can’t pray or do any household stuff. In spite of restricting, let them be free and enjoy every single moment of their life because it’s okay to bleed.
